Vipers Extend 'Schools Program' To Take On 'Wordsley High School'

As further development of our 'Schools Program', Youth Team 'Head Coach' and Club Vice-Chairman, Tom Edmonds; along with current members of the Vipers squad and coaches visited Wordsley High School to provide a week’s introduction to American Football for pupils in Years 7 to 10.

Dubbed “American Football Week” by the Wordsley staff, over 500 pupils received coaching in their PE lessons for duration of the week.

Here is the noticeboard, created by the PE department, to help promote 'American Football Week:

Coach Tom Edmonds says :

“The response from the pupils and staff was fantastic, every year group showed huge enthusiasm and skill throughout the week. The pupils attitude toward a sport they knew very little about was very mature. They are a credit to themselves and their school. It was a genuine pleasure to spend a week coaching them. There is some serious football talent at Wordsley!”

Mrs Ketteringham, Head of PE at Wordsley had these kind words to say :

"Tom and his team offered our pupils a fantastic opportunity to experience American Football and our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the drills and game experiences, receiving great coaching and support.

We would welcome the opportunity to work with the Black Country Vipers again and hope that we could establish links to encourage our pupils to take up American Football with your club. Thank you for a great week."

Coach Tom Edmonds would like to thank the pupils and staff at Wordsley for a fantastic week and we, Black Country Vipers, look forward to working with you again the future.
